2015 Retrospective - The Art Circuit

Hello Members and Friends of The Art Circuit!

Happy New Year! It’s the season for retrospectives and we think your involvement with The Art Circuit warrants an update. It was a big year for us as we continued to expand the network, identify preference trends, and even made our first artwork sale! More on that in a moment. Below are some major themes:

  • Enjoyment Patterns: While we do find certain conventional wisdom about art’s subjectivity to be accurate, we also see clear interest patterns among you as to the most popular styles. We will continue to curate these styles while ensuring you see unexpected artworks that expand your exposure.

  • Excitement and Surprise: To the point above, we will be very candid that feedback has been incredibly positive around the excitement and surprise that a new artwork brings. Our goal is to continue providing surprise around a varied set of styles.

  • Rotation Windows: By the late Spring rotation windows will go away. We will likely request you keep the art for a minimum time (TBD) but then allow you to keep said artwork much longer than two months and rotate it at your discretion.

  • Sales: All artwork is officially for sale. We are still not posting prices or making the sales conversation so obvious, as our first goal is for Members to enjoy their current artwork. That said, if you cannot bear to part with it, ask us and we’ll remove the artwork from circulation at a fair price. Our first artwork sold as a Christmas present and we couldn’t be happier that it found a permanent home.

In the Spring of this year we will have additional announcements about the subscription and supporting technology. Until then, we’ll likely host at least one event (A Studio visit, TBD) towards the end of January or beginning of February. We look forward to seeing you all then!
